Judokas Delayed the Delayed Elections

Elections of Georgian Judo Federation have postponed by December 10. Delegates of today’s congress made this decision when Vladimer Nutsubidze, general secretary of Judo Federation, read statements of both candidates.

Davit Khakhaleishvili and Mamuka Khabareli will not participate in the elections anymore. The congress continued with argument. Journalists were told to leave the congress.

The reason of the argument was taking some last names out of the list. They are four delegates: Giorgi Udesiani, Merab Chikobava, Davit Gobejishvili and Giorgi Asanidze. Other two delegates – Davit Namgalauri and Giorgi Aleksidze refused their mandates.

Davit Kevkhishvili confirmed that he is going to participate in the presidential election of judo federation. Former member of Georgian national judo team informed “World Sport” about his decision a few time ago, after ending summarizing-election meeting.
“I will fill in application in any case. It goes without saying that I have talked to the former candidates too. Election is ahead and if the people in judo will support me, I will do my best to lead federation very well. There is nothing strange for me in Georgian judo”-stated Davit Kevkhiashvili.
As far as you know presidential election in judo federation had to be held today, but both of the candidates – Davit Khakhaleishvili and Mamuka Khabareli withdrew their candidates and the election was postponed till December 10. Till December 7 is deadline of putting candidates forwards. After this comment we tried to connect to Davit Khakhaleishvili the former candidate of the presidential elections and the active president of judo federation, but he again did not answer our call.
