Georgian judo federation has published list of sportsmen for Tbilisi World Cup. On January 28-29 Tbilisi Sports Palace hosts traditional international tournament. Four Georgian sportsmen will wrestle in each weight category.
Before the tournament expanded staff of national team has preparation in Dusheti sport base. Trainer of the team was an assistant of Peter Seisenbacher head coach of Georgian national judo team. As for Peter Seisenbacher, Austrian specialist was having meeting with 12 members of national team in Austria. Today, at dawn delegation returns in Georgia and tomorrow they will join other members of national team who are in Dusheti.
On January 25 sportsmen who will be named for Tbilisi World Cup will return in Tbilisi and stay at “Batesta” hotel till the end of the tournament.
At the end of the previous season was found out that Georgian team would not wrestle at Sports Palace with optimal staff and now there are concrete names of these following players who will miss this tournament, those are: Vrlam Liparteliani (90kg), Irakli Tsirekidze and Levan Zhorzholiani (both of them 100 kg).
It is still unknown if Amiran Papinashvili (60kg) the most ranking judoka of Georgian national judo team competes at this tournament. According to official web-site of judo federation, Papinashvili’s participation at World Cup is excluded. Probably Vazha Margvelashvili of Giorgi Mesablishvili will replace him.
