Georgian chess player Baadur Jobava won international tournament – “Lake Sevan-2011”.Before ending the tournament Jobava was a leader and only three players were 0.5-point behind him. In the last round he played draw with host Avetik Grigoryan and became champion with 5.5 points.
Hrant Melukyan who was half point behind Jobava managed to beat Sergey Zhigalo (Belarus) with white pieces and as a result he gathered 5.5 points as Jobava did.
Chinese Zhinchao Zhu also has chance of ending the tournament with 5.5 points but he could not manage to beat Armenian Zaven Andriasyan with white pieces.
So, Jobava and Melukyan gained 5.5.points but Jobava’s additional points were more than his rival and that’s why he became champion.
