Jobava Moves toward Championship with Maximum Points

 

Georgian chess player Baadur Jobava (2678) is leading chess tournament named after Eduardo Kresp in Milan. The tournament is held for the 32nd time. Georgian Grand Master is No.1 seed and he justified his status – after seven rounds Jobava has 7.0 (!) points.

In Milan, Jobava managed to defeat the following chess players: Bocal of Italy (2133), Martines of the Philippines (2420), Salvador of the Philippines (2500), Serbians – Lazic (2459), Sedlak (2592) and Drajic (2537) and Shishkin of Ukraine (2449). In the eighth round, he will play against another Ukrainian Malaniuk (2504).

Malaniuk is 1.5 points behind Jobava.

Nine rounds will be held at the Italian tournament. Winner will get 1000 EUR from prize money along with special cup.
