Jobava is Progressing

 

Baadur Jobava (2707) Georgian grand master started competing at 12th European Individual Championship with three draws, but then managed to win three games from four and improved his condition. In 7 rounds he managed to gain 5.0 points and he is on the 43rd place among 400 participants.  
In the 7th round Jobava playing with black pieces won over Dutch Dmitry Reinderman (2601) and today he is playing against Azerbaijani Eltaj Safarli (2628). Russian chess player Vladimir Potkin has 6.0 points and is a leader of this championship. As for Jobava he owns 5 points and has chance of advancing in four rounds and that is very real.
Unfortunately, besides Jobava other Georgian players also will have difficulties in fighting for top places. Tornike Sanikidze (2542) is on the 74th place with 4.5 points, Levan Pantsulaia (2595,113) and Salome Melia (2462, 174) have 4-4 points, Davit Lobjanidze (2489, 180), Lela Javakhishvili (2437, 187), Luka Paichadze (2487) and Davit Zarkua (2397) have 3.5.-3.5 points.
