Irakli Tsirekidze, champion of Beijing Olympic Games 2008, is punished for using doping. He is disqualified for three months. International Federation has already informed Georgian Judo Federation about the punishment. On January 19, after test, prohibited drug was discovered in the blood of Tsirekidze.
According to the preliminary information, disqualification will come into force on January 19 and on April 19 Georgian sportsman will have a right to return on tatami. But his chance to leave for London has minimized. Besides that, his license points gained during these three months will be annulled. Management of the team must say the final word. Perhaps, Georgian sanction will be added to the international one.
