Georgian top seed Anna Tatishvili who might get in Top 60 of WTA ranking is in the city of Canada, Quebec, and is planning to play at “Challenge Bell” (220 000 USD).

Tatishvili will play in the main draw and Sesil Karatantcheva of Kazakhstan will be her opponent in the first round. In case of victory, Anna will play against winner between Petra Martic of Croatia and Camila Giorgi of Italy.

Sofia Shapatava and Oksana Kalashnikova could not make through the main draw of Tashkent tournament (Uzbekistan, 220 000 USD). After beating Ksenia Palkina of Kyrgyzstan (6:4, 6:3) in the qualifying draw, Shapatava lost to Marta Sirotkina of Russia 6:7 (0:7), 3:6. By the way, Sirotkina won over Kalashnikova 1:6, 6:4, 6:4 in the first round.

By the way, Georgian tennis players who played in the name of Russia participated in the Tashkent tournament too. Maia Katsitadze defeated Yashina and Bichkova. Anna Chakvetadze beat Buryachok of Ukraine and Kudriavtseva of Russia. She is only one victory away from the main draw.
