Since March 28 till April 5 Jordan hosts Cadet and Junior World Fencing Championships. Georgian team competes at this tournament which 9 sportsmen, Mikheil Mardaleishvili who is among them won bronze medal at Junior World Championship. It is noteworthy that in Georgian fencing history it is the first medal. Mrdaleishvili beat sportsmen from Iraq, Ukraine, Germany and the UAE. He lost only with American sportsman.
Georgian sword-player beat All Filf Basim 15:9 in 1/32 final, in 1/16 final he won over Belarus Sergey Kisel (15:7), in 1/8 final – American Jophry Loss (15:11), in semi-quarter – German Ianik Ofer Kikh – 15:11. Georgian sportsman lost with Italian Luka Kuraturi (13:14) in semi-final and took the third place.
On the same day two Georgian sportsmen Davit Ukleba and Teona Goglidze competed but without any results. Luka Gaganidze is to compete among juniors and besides Mardaleishvili, Sandro Bazidze, Lasha Mikeladze, Archil Ugulava and Tatia Aptsiauri will compete at cadet championship.
Olympic chamion Vladimir Aptsiauri is head of Georgian delegation in Jordan. There are the following coaches in Georgian delegation: Merab Bazidze, Irakli Gaganidze and Teona Galuashvili. In Jordan there is general secretary Davit Sakhvadze too.
