Management of “Hertha” Berlin offered Georgian captain Levan Kobiashvili to extend contract.
The club made this decision despite disqualification of 34-year-old Georgian. Kobiashvili thanked the team for its support and faith in conversation with CISSoccer.com.
“I felt support from many people in such difficult situation, not only from my friends and family but also from the team, manager Preetz and president Gegenbauer. I want to thank them for that”, - stated Kobiashvili.
Levan Kobiashvili transferred from “Schalke” Gelsenkirchen to “Hertha” in 2010. Last season, he held 31 matches, scored 2 goals and made 2 goal assists. In the match against “Fortuna” Dusseldorf, he physically assaulted referee Wolfgang Stark and German Football Union gave him 6-month disqualification. Disqualification of Levan expires on January 1, 2013.
