The 5th round at the international tournament which takes place in the capital of Philippines, Manila was successful for Georgian chess players. Georgian player Tamaz Gelashvili (2605) defeated Filipino Emmanuel Senador with white pieces. Merab Gagunashvili (2596) beat another host Haridas Paskua (2368).
Georgian chess players collected 4.0-4.0 points and are still half point behind Uzbek leader Anton Filipov (2609). According to the additional data, Gelashvili is in the 3rd place and Gagunashvili - in the 4th place.
Matches of Filipov and Gelashvili will be central in the 6th round. Uzbek will play with white pieces. Gagunashvili will play against Kazakh Murtas Kashvaliyev (2619) with white pieces.
