Georgian chess player Sopo Guramishvili (2298) is winning matches one after another at World Junior Chess Championship. After not so good play in first rounds, Sopo won 5 matches in a row and took the 3rd place among 81 participants.
Guramishvili defeated Azerbaijan Gulnar Mamadova (2260) with white pieces in the 8th round and collected 65 points. Uzbek Nafisa Muminova (2290) who is in the 2nd place has the same points. Slovenian Ana Muzichuk (2527) is in the 1st place with 7.0 points.
Georgian chess player will play with leader (who has the best rating in the tournament in Poland) with black pieces. Nani Unapkoshvili (1997), another Georgian participant of U-20 Championship, is in worse situation. Croat Zrinka Deur defeated her with black pieces and now Nani is in the 62nd place with 3.0 points. Polish Sabina Iablonska (1876) will be her next opponent. In men's tournament Davit Lomsadze (2364) finished draw with Hungarian Tamash Fodor (2452) with black pieces and is in the 49th place with 4.0 points. Davit will play with Indian Sunil Svapnil (2426) in the 9th round.
U-20 World Championship is divided in 13 rounds and will finish on August 16.
