Lasha Gujejiani, member of Georgian judo team, lost against Rafael Silva of Brazil in repechage final at World Championship which takes place in Tokyo. The first day of a 5-day championship ended up without a medal for Georgian team.
In main time Gujejiani and Silva changed yukos. In added time Brazilian scored waza-ari and won a right to wrestle in "bronze final". After losing against Japanese Kazuhiko Takahashi, Lasha Gujejiani continued competing in final round from the 1/4 final. Before that, he defeated Abdulo Tangriev of Uzbekistan and and Matias Seraj of Slovenia.
Heavyweight judoka Adam Okruashvili put a judogi on only once - he was beat by German Andreas Tolzer in 3 minutes.
Irakli Tsirekidze (100 kg) beat Ukrainian Artem Bloshenko and Uzbek Ramzidin Saidov but he did nothing against Cuban Oreidis Despain in the 1/8 final. Levan Jorjoliani managed to overcome only one round in this weight class. After beating Moldovan Stanislav Chernega, he was defeated by Uzbek Utkir Kurbanov.
Tomorrow winners among men will be found out in 81 kg and 90 kg, and among women - in 70 kg. Levan Tsiklauri, Giorgi Shinjikashvili (both 81 kg), Varlam Liparteliani and Mindia Bodaveli (90 kg) will wrestle in the name of Georgia. Matches will be held at dawn Tbilisi time. Champions and prize-winners will be found out at noon.
