Gudauri Hosts International Snowboarding Tournament

 

 

On February 18-19 Gudauri hosted international tournament Gudauri Open Snow Race. There were 17 participant countries in this competition (Switzerland, Japan, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia), there were 100 participants and the tournament was held under the Auspices of International Snowboarding Federation (FIS).
The tournament was held in support with Tbilisi City Hall, Fund of development of Gudauri, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs and Federation of Georgian Snowboard. Such rank tournament has not been held since 80s years of the twentieth century.
Champions and prize winners were found out in PGS as well as in PSL among women as well as among men. Among the participants was Slovenian Rock Flander – world champion in PGS (2007).  The President of International Snowboarding Association- German Peter Kryogel attended this tournament.
On February volunteer snowboarders participated in this competition. Winners of Snowboard Race were awarded with cups, medals, diplomas, prize money.
9 Georgian sportsmen took part in this tournament. Among them the most titled was Revaz Nazgaidze. Among Georgian participants was one female -Nino Burduli. Gigi Ugulava, Mayor of Tbilisi awarded champions and prize winners of this tournament.
