Greco-Romans Gain 2 Silver Medals in Nice


Mukhran Machutadze (66 kg) and Revaz Nadareishvili (84 kg) members of Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team gained silver medals at Henry Deland 36th memorial in Nice, France. On November 25, champions and prize winners were found out in four weight categories: 55, 66, 84 and 120 kg. Georgian team did not have representatives in heavy and light weight categories. As for other weight categories, Georgians were very close to gold medal.
On November 26, champions and prize winners were found out in 60, 74 and 96 weight categories. Five Georgian wrestlers wrestled on that day, those wrestlers are the following: Kemal Kharabadze (60 kg), Genady Gogiashvili, Zurab Datunashvili (both of them 74 kg), Irakli Kajaia and Sandro Dikhaminjia (96 kg). Ramaz Nozadze (96 kg) also was in the preliminary main staff for Nice tournament, but European and World champion is not in desirable physical condition and supposedly due to this reason he did not participate in this tournament.
Otar Tatishvili took Georgian team in France. Begi Darchia head coach of national tem left for Minsk with the main candidates of the team. Georgian team will wrestle at traditional tournament named after Oleg Karavayev. The tournament last for one day, champions and prize winners will be found out on November 26. The main staff for Minsk tournament is the following: Lasha Gogitidze (55 kg), Revaz Lashkhi (60 kg), Archil Turmanidze, Lasha Lolashvili (66 kg), Manuchar Tskhadaia (both of them 74 kg), Vladimer Gegeshidze (84 kg), Soso Jabidze (96 kg) and Shota Gogisvanidze (120 kg). Lolashvili and Shota Gogisvanidze were added in the main staff when wrestling of Manuchar Kvirkvelia (74 kg) and Sergo Gogisvanidze (120 kg) was excluded.
