Alberto Tomba, famous ski racer, world champion and winner of Winter Olympiads, will arrive in Georgia on initiative of Georgian Ski Federation and with support of “Silknet” company, “Silk Road Group” and Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Foreign investors and experts of skiing and infrastructure will visit Georgia with Tomba. The group of journalists will also arrive in Georgia with the delegation.
The following people will be among the guests: American investor Gregory Sherwood, Italian journalist Lucia Gali (expert in tourism, sports journalist who represents the following newspapers: Snowtime, Rivista Sci, Gazzetta dello Sport, Tuttosport, Sciare), Martina Fiala (German edition www.ski2b.com), former coach expert Carl Frezner (coach of Swiss Ski Federation) and Gregory Sherwood (famous cameraman of ski resorts).
Patrick Lang (vice-president of International Skiing Journalist Association) who is official representative of different European editions (BLICK AT ZURICH, L’Equipe at Paris, Kurier Zeitung in Austria) will be a coordinator of this event.
The aim of this visit is to make Georgian ski resorts more popular. On April 8, a press conference will be held at “Radisson Blu Iveria” hotel at 13:30. After it, the delegation will leave for Mestia. On April 9, they will visit Svaneti region.
On April 10, Alberto Tomba will reward winners of Georgian Skiing Championship in Gudauri. Rewarding ceremony will start at 20:00.
“Skiing has a great potential in Georgia. I think the mentioned visit will develop Georgian skiing sport and tourism” – stated general secretary of Georgian Ski Federation Gogla Tsagareli.
