Gold, Bronze and "Surprise" from Organizers

 

 

Ramaz Zoidze member of Georgian Greco-Roman style cadet wrestling team gained gold medal gained at Cadet European Wrestling Championship, which finished yesterday in Poland. As far as you know, Ramaz Zoidze became champion in 46 kg weight category. Last year he was wrestling in 42 kg weight category and gained bronze medal at European championship and gold medal at World championship.
On Katowice tatami Ramaz Zoidze beat four rivals. He lost only one set with Armenian Artur Simonyan, but then he managed to finish match in his favor. He beat easily Finn Miko Peltokang and Turkish Buthan Bozkurt. In the final fight he beat Azerbaijani Mikhail Rakhmanov in three-sent fight.
Nika Gavasheni (76kg) also wrestled yesterday.  After beating Italian Jaco,o Jiufrida, Croatian Mario Mikhalis and Ukrainian Artem Suroviagin started very well semi-final match with Turkish Fatih Chengiz, won the first set 6:0 but could not manage to keep superiority.  In repechage final he beat Czech Dominik Dobes and gained bronze medal.
Giorgi Khochua (54kg) was close to top three. But he lost chance of winning gold-silver in semi-final. He lost with future champion Otevov of Russia. In “bronze final” he lost with Christopher Kraemer and finally took the fifth place. Before these two matches, Khuchua beat three opponents- from the first match to the semi-final he beat Morten Toresen of Norway, Belarusian Vladimir Saikou and Latvian Nikita Masiuksy.
It was wrestling tournament and traditionally there was organizing problem- at the official web-site of European championship tournament draw is made in a half way in 100 kg weight category. According to the information, Georgian wrestler Zviad Pataridze (100kg) won Pole Kasper Volek in two sets and had to wrestle against Russian Sergey Semenov in quarter-final..
