Due to problems at the air-port, I was late for one hour at “Dalga Arena” and that’s why I could not attend press-conference of “Neftchi”. As the local journalists told me, head coach of Baku team Buiukaga Gajiev is feeling sick. He could not manage to meet journalists and supposedly will not be able to attend today’s match.
Before the press-conference held by Giorgi Chiaberashvili head coach of “Zestafoni” and midfielder Davit Mujiri, I had time to visit the stadium for some minutes. “Neftchi” was having training there and they were to finish it. There was such noise at the stadium that I though the tribunes were full, I could not believe my eyes when I saw that 40-man fans sitting in the west and east tribunes were making such noise. It’s a fact that they were supporting their club very much, but a good acoustic also worth to mention.
The fans sitting in the west tribunes are called “Forza Neftchi” whilst the fans sitting in the east tribune are called “Ultra Neftchi” and “Flagman”. As we heard, besides them “Neftchi” has 5 fan clubs. Members of “1937” and “Black &White” did not attend today’s training.
Local journalist was to say something else about fan-clubs, but press-conference of “Zestafoni” started and we entered into the hall. It goes without saying that the main addressee was Chiaberashvili.
- How “Zestafoni” meets tomorrow’s match?
- We had a quite good preparation and to my mind we are ready. “Neftchi” is a good club, but I hope that we will go through the next stage.
- You have recently said that if “Zwestafoni” stays beyond the second circle it would a disaster…
- I have never said something like that. I have never mentioned the word “disaster”. We really have an ambitious and it is quite normal.
- Head coach of “Neftchi” stated that he will try to decide everything in the first match…
- It is excluded. The fight is two-round and everything will be found out in Zestafoni, in one week.
- Why “Zestafoni” has to go through the second circle?
- Because, Georgian football needs this success. Our club is a stable club, last year due to lack experience we could not manage to go through the group-stage of League. We have to fight for achieving our goal this year. I think we can do it.
- Who do you think is the strongest opponent among “Neftchi” players?
-We afraid of no one. We know that you club transferred several strong players, but whole team wins the match not concrete players.
Davit Mujiri also made a short comment. He mentioned that, difficult matches are ahead them and hopes that “Zestafoni” will manage to go though the next stage.
When the players of “Zestafoni” appeared at “Dalga Arena”, the fans sitting at the east tribune started using bad words towards Georgians and there is a big risk of friction today. Organizers are going fans of “Zestafoni” to sit next to them.
