Nestor Mumladze, coach of "Torpedo" Kutaisi, resigned. After losing against his former club "Wit Georgia" (0:1) on Friday in Rustavi, Mumladze decided to quit working for the club.
Kutaisi fans demanded his resignation because of unsuccessful competition of "Torpedo" in the current championship. The club which returned to Supreme League this year could not win even one match in previous 7 rounds and is in the last place with 3 points. Though, "Torpedo" held the most control matches (they won 10 and played 2 draws from 12 matches) and fans hoped that they would have participated successfully in the championship.
According to "World Sport", Nestor Mumladze wanted to resign but an owner of the club did not let him do it. "Vissol" is owner of the club. Levan Pkhakadze who is deputy chairman of supervisory board ("Vissol") is also president of "Torpedo". According to his decision, a new head coach Gia Gigatadze will be presented at the central office of "Vissol" on Sunday. A 46-year-old Gigatadze was among those three coaches (Iason Bzikadze and Giorgi Sukhiashvili) who headed "Torpedo" in 2009-2010 and "Torpedo" was the best club of First League. As for his recent activities, he was heading reserve staff of "Torpedo". "Reservists" of Kutaisi are leading the tournament with 16 points within 7 rounds.
