Georgian Wrestlers Started with Greco-Roman Style

On September 10, freestyle wrestlers started participation in World Championship which takes place in Moscow. Sportsmen of 55 kg wrestled on the mat. Besik Guchashvili, member of Georgian team, was among them.
After voting Georgian wrestler competed in the first circle. In the second round he wrestled against Chinese Mude Ki and defeated him in 2 sets. In the 1/8 final, he could do nothing against Hasan Ferman Harim of Iran. At first he lost the chance of winning gold and silver medals and then bronze medal too because Iranian sportsman lost before the final.
In the final of 55 kg, Russian Viktor Lebedev and Azerbaijani Togrul Asgarov wrestled against each other. The host won in a 3-set tense fight. A month ago Azerbaijani Asgarov was defeated by Georgian wrestler Vladimir Khinchegashvili in the final of World Youth Championship.
On September 11, champions and prize winners will be found out in 60, 84 and 96 weight classes. Malkhaz Kurdiani (60 kg), Davit Marsagishvili (84 kg) and Giorgi Gogshelidze (96 kg) will wrestle in the name of Georgia. After voting they started competition from the second circle.
Kurdiani will wrestle against Franklin Gomez Mato of Puerto Rico. In case of victory, supposedly, he will wrestle against one of the favorites Ukrainian Vasil Fedorishin. Hungarian Istvan Vereb will be the opponent of Marsagishvili. Gogshelidze will wrestle against Ioannis Papadopoulos of Greece. In case of winning both matches, leader of Georgian team will win a right to wrestle in the 1/4 final. The ways of Gogshelidze and the main favorite of World Championship Russian Hajimurat Gatsalov will be crossed.
