Georgian freestyle wrestling team will leave for Mink in several hours. On March 4-5, the capital of Belarus will host international tournament named after Alexander Medved. 10 Georgian sportsmen will participate in it. On March 19-20, freestyle wrestlers will leave for Makhachkala to compete in World Cup. According to the decision of coaches, the team will participate in both tournaments with new staff. Leaders of weight classes: Vladimir Khinchegashvili (55 kg), Malkhaz Zarkua (60 kg), Koba Kakaladze (66 kg), Davit Khutsishvili (74 kg), Davit Marsagishvili (84 kg), Beldukh Gavashelishvili (96 kg) and Davit Modzmanashvili (120 kg) will participate only in meetings till the end of March. They are preparing for European Championship which will take place in the city of Germany, Dortmund.
“2-2 candidates of Georgian team will wrestle in 55, 60, 66 and 84 kg in Minsk. 1-1 candidate will wrestle in 96 and 120 kg. We will not have a candidate in 74 kg. Coaches Aleksandre Kakhniashvili and Davit Otiashvili will take the team to Belarus” – Malkhaz Jorbenadze, general secretary of Georgian Wrestling Federation, told “World Sport”. Jorbenadze is invited to Medved tournament as a referee.
