Georgian Tennis Players will Play in The Main Draw of Telavi Tournament

 

 

As we were reporting, 11 Georgians started competition at Telavi International tournament, which prize money is 50 000 USD. None of them managed to go through the main draw. Only two host players went to the decisive round, but they also could not manage to succeed.  Mariam Gogelashvili lost with No.2 Russian Margarita Lazareva 2:6, 1:6 and Ani Gogvadze lost with Ukrainian Gana Pozhnikhirenko 1:6, 2:6.
So, only those Georgians who were seeded in the main wrap will compete at Telavi International tournament. As far as you know, there are six host participants and four of them have “wild cards”.
In the first round Maka Chakhnashvili plays against Ekaterine Gorgodze. Sopho Shapataba plays against Spanish Ines Ferer-Suares, Oksana Kalashnikova plays against Italian Anastasia Grimalska, Sopho Kvatsabaia against No.5 seed Croatian Tereza Mrdeza,  as for Natia Gegia, she will play against one of the winners of qualification.
In doubles tournament Chakhjnashvili and Kavatsabaia play against Russian-Ukrainian duet (Khromacheva-Svitolina), Mariam Kurasbedniani and Babilina Machairdze against Hungarian Ianis and German Shakovets, Tamar Chalaganidze and Gogvadze against Shapatava and Italian Grimalska against No.4 seed tandem. In the first round No.1 seed Ukrainian sisters Kichenok play against Kalashnikova and Belarusian Dzehalevic, Margalita Chichashvili owner of “Wild Card” and Natela Tsiklauri representative of Russia play against Ukrainian Yanchuk and Belarusian Sasnovic.
