Tomorrow, at dawn Georgian National Judo Team leaves for Netherlands and on October 15-17 will participate in Rotherdam Grand Prix. This tournament is debut for Soso Liparteliani a new head coach of Georgian National Judo Team. He named the main staff ten days ago and today Georgian Judo Federation provided “World Sport” with information about one added sportsman. Zviad Gogochuri will wrestle in 90 weight category and he leaves for Netherland with his own expanses.
This tournament is one of the important in individual tournament. The results of this tournament will effect at license rating of Olympic Games 2012. Champion at this tournament will gain 200 points, the second place winner 120 points and bronze owner 80. This tournament is financially attractive also, prize money is 150 000 USD.
According to preliminary information Georgian team only to plans to participate in this tournament, which is among four tournaments before London Olympic Games. But this plan maybe changed. Georgian team does not have good showings and missing these tournaments
At this weekend World Cup will be underway in the city of Samoa, Apia. On November 23-24 Grand Prix will be held in the city of the UAE, Abu Dhabi. On December 3-4 World Cup will be held in South Korea. On December 10-12 Big Slam will be held in Tokyo.
Georgian National Team will train in Judo Academy named after Shota Chochishvili. A new head coach of the team named the coaches who will train Georgian team. Guram Modebadze, Irakli Uznadze, Iveri Jikurauli, Tamaz Kariauli and Nestor Khergiani are in this team. Modebadze will train 60, 66 and 73 weight categories. Irakli Uznadze 81, 90 weight categories and Iveri Jikirauli will train judokas of 100, +100 weight categories. Tamaz Karauli will work about tactic of the team and Nestor Khergiani about physical readiness. The 12-man squad of Roterdam tournament consists of the following players: 60 kg- Davit Asumbani and Amiran Papinashvili, 66 kg – Shalva Kardava and Ucha Khutsishvili, 73 kg – Zaza Kedelashvili and Nugzar Tatalashvili, 81 kg – Levan Tsiklauri and Yoseb Tselauri, 90 kg – Varlam Liparteliani and Zviad Gogochuri, 100 kg – Davit Loriashvili, +100 kg – Adam Okriashvili.
