Georgian judo team gained title of champion at European Team Championship. The team of Peter Seisenbacher defeated the host team in final of European Championship which took place in the city of Russia, Chelyabinsk. Georgians won 3:2.

Georgian team won Turkey over 5:0 and defeated France 3:2 in semifinal. Poland took the third place after beating Britain in repechage final.
