Georgia Beats Romania

 

Georgian national team won over Romanian national team in tense match – 19:13, as a result Georgian team kept chance of winning Nations Cup. This following match was held in the capital of Romania, Bucharest.

Milton Haig New Zealander head coach of “The Lelos” have already won the first cup with Georgian sportsmen –“Antimoz Iverieli Cup” and now it has the second chance of winning cup.

Georgian national team did not seem mobilize at the beginning of the match but soon received try, followed by realization. Soon Kvirikashvili responded it with penalty kick, but Romanians gained 7-point superiority over the rival. In last 5 minutes Georgians offended well, Kvirikashvili did well and as a result Romanians were ahead only with 4 points.

It is newsworthy that at the 14th minute Irakli Machkhaneli was sinnbined.

At the beginning of the second period “The Lelos” tries to use it but hosts advanced with 7 points. At the 47th minute Georgians started to offense. At the 50th minute Davit Kacharava scored try after assisting Kvirikashvili. Kvirikashvili scored realization and managed to equalize. At the 59th minute he advanced Georgian national ream with scoring penalty kick.

In this episode Ursache stepped Gorgodze and he was sinnbined, but Georgian leader injured and as substituted as well as Merab Sharikadze. At the 62nd minute Marius Tinku seized Vito Kolelishvili, Georgian sportsman responded him with slapping, referee sent off Kolelishvili and penalty kick was set against Georgians.  

Soon Romanians gained right to kick penalty kick, but they could not score. At the 72nd minute Kvirikashvili scored penalty. The end of the match was very tense, Romanians were attacking, but Georgians managed to mobilize and finally managed to win – 19:13.

 As for other matches, Portugal won Spain 23:17. Russia beat Ukraine – 38:19. Now Georgia, Romania and Spain have 10-10 points. Russia keeps the fourth place with 9 points. On march 17 “The Lelos” hosts Russia, Spain hosts Romania and as a result finalists will be found out.
