Gaphrindashvili and Khmiadashvili Advanced

 

 

After two rounds at World championship among senior chess players, six players are leading the tournament with maximum points. Georgian chess players Nona Gaphrindashvili (2360) and Tamar Khmiadashvili (2166) are among the leaders.
In the second round Gaphrindashvili won over Russian Natalya Titorenko (2143) with black pieces, as for Khmiadashvili, she won over Russian Natalya Chernova (2095) with white pieces. As for Nino Melashvili (2106) she played draw with Russian Galina Strutinskaya (2277) and as a result she is in the 11st place with 1.5 points. In the third round Gaphrindashvili and Melashvili will play with white pieces against Indian Sate Tipseisa (2152) and Russian Elena Fatalibekova (2285) and Khmiadashvili will play against Russian Svetlana Miednikova (2165) with black pieces.
leven rounds will be held at the tournament and the prize money is 15 000 EUR. 12 000 EUR is for men’s tournament and 3 000 EUR for women’s tournament. If man winner gets 2 100 EUR, woman winner has to be satisfied with 800 EUR.
