World Youth Wrestling Championship has ended up so that Georgian Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling teams could not take the first place. Today winners of last weight classes were found out in the city of Thailand, Pattaya. Champions and prize winners of 55, 66, 84 and 120kg were found out. Only Levan Gogrichiani (84kg) from four Georgians was left beyond Top 3. He lost to Maganedgaj Khativer of Azerbaijan (0:2, 1:2).
Lasha Talakhadze (55kg) and Konstantine Khabalashvili (66kg) needed one victory for the first place. Talakhadze defeated four opponents. He won over Joe Dans of America (5:1, 1:0), Alexey Baskakov of Estonia (6:2, 7:0) and Artak Hovanisian of Armenia (4:1, 4:3) in 2-2 periods. In semifinal Talakhadze defeated Pumitaka Morishita of Japan (5:3, 4:7, 5:3). In the decisive fight he lost to Bekhbaiar Erdenbat of Mongolia.
Konstantine Khabalashvili lost to Magomed Kurbanaliev of Russia. The first period ended up draw 1:1. The Georgian won the second period 2:0 and lost the third 0:1. Finally, he won silver medal. Before that Khabalashvili won over Georg Marcl of Austria (5:0, 9:0), Ulukman Mamatov of Kyrgyzstan (1:0, 2:0) and David Apoian of Armenia (3:2, 7:0).
Geno Petriashvili started participation from 1/8 final. He beat Ounbold Enkhtugs of Mongolia (6:3, 6:0) and Kamal Guda Diaeldin of Egypt (2:0, 6:0). In semifinal Geno lost to Magomedgaj Nurasulov of Russia (4:4, 2:3). In repechage he defeated Sani Dins of Canada (3:2, 3:0).
The team of Nugzar Skhireli won four medals at World Championship. Besides Talakhadze, Khabalashvili and Petriashvili, Jumber Kvelashvili (74kg) stood on pedestal.
