Four Draws in a Row

 

Georgian chess player Meri Arabidze (2379) played four draws in a row at World Junior Chess Championship and is in the 11th place with 4.0 points. In the 6th round Arabidze played draw with Nastasia Ziaziulkina of Belarus (2342) with white pieces. Meri will play against Chelsie Monica Sihite of Poland (2162) in the upcoming round.

Nani Unapkoshvili (2011), another Georgian participant of Athens tournament, lost to Yulia Osmak of Ukraine (2171) and is in the 48th place with 2.0 points. In the 7th round Unapkoshvili will play against Regina-Veronicka Kalaydina of Canada.

Shalva Nadirashvili (2151) is in the 64th place with 3.0 points at boys’ tournament. Dimitri Kvaratskhelia (2093) is in the 83rd place with 2.5 points.

World Junior Championships are based on Swiss system. The last round will be held on August 15. August 9 is a day-off.
