For Two Cups against Romania

On March 12, Georgian National Rugby Team plays against Romanian National Rugby Team in Tbilisi.
In case of gaining premier point “The Lelos” has chance of winning “Nations Cup” 2011-2012 in advance. By initiative of Georgian Rugby Union those teams play for “Antimoz Iverieli” Cup in this match. In case of victory Georgian National Team wins this cup too.
At this moment Romania owns both these cups, last year “The Oak Leaf” won over “The Lelos” in Bukarest and as a result of this victory they managed to win “Nations Cup” and “Antimoz Iverieli Cup”.  So “The Lelos” have chance of revenge now.
This year Georgian National Rugby Team won over Ukrainian and Spanish teams with big point differences in Tbilisi. “The Lelos” managed to beat Portuguese Team in Lisbon. Only one point was decisive in this match. As for Romanians, they lost with Portuguese team at the beginning of the tournament.  In the second round they have to play against Ukrainian Team but due to big snow this match was postponed.  In the third round “The Oak Leaf” beat Russian National Rugby Team 33:3, but scored only 3 tries and could not manage to gain premier point. Georgian and Romanian Teams held the first match in 1998 and since 2002 they play against each other at “Antimoz Iverieli Cup”. They have met each other 13 times, Romanians managed to win 8 matches and Georgians succeeded in 5 matches. In 9 matches from 13 they fight for “Antimoz Iverieli Cup”, Romania won the following cup 5 times and Georgians 4 times.
