Ushangi Kuzanashvili (57kg) member of Georgian national sambo team beat the rival at European sambo championship, which is underway in the capital of Russia and became champion. According to the official web-site of the tournament, Georgian sambo wrestler beat Azerbaijani Islam Gasumov in the final match. There is not any type of information about preliminary matches.

Besides Kuzanishvili, Besarion Berulava (74kg), Mrian Pavliashvili (100kg), Shorena Leonidze (80kg) wrestled and all of them managed to win medal.

Berulava and Leionidze went through the final, but in decisive matches could not manage to beat Russian Aleksandr Shaburov and Bulgarian Marian Oriashkova, as a result they won silver medals. Pavliashvili and Sharadze became bronze-medal winners.

On the final day of European championship- On May 20 Davit Asumbani (62kg), Giorgi Baindurashvili (82kg) and Nodar Metreveli (100kg) are to wrestle.
