Georgian judo team will compete in Moscow Grand Slam with half staff. The team of Peter Seisenbacher will leave for Russia tomorrow. The tournament will be held on May 28-29.
Austrian head coach of Georgian team will take only five judokas. Nugzar Tatalashvili and Ambako Avaliani will wrestle in 73 kg, Irakli Tsirekidze and Levan Zhorzholiani – in 100 kg and Zviad Khanjaliashvili – in +100 kg. On the first day of the tournament, champions and prize winners will be found out in 60, 66 and 73 kg. On the second day, they will be found out in 81, 90, 100 and +100 kg. The only woman member of Georgian team Nino Odzelashvili (70 kg) will wrestle on Sunday.
According to the information of International Judo Federation, 62 countries will compete in the tournament. Prize money of Grand Slam is 150 000 USD. Champions will gain 5 000 USD with gold medals and 300 rating points. Silver medal winners will gain 180 points and 3 000 USD. Bronze medal winners will receive 120 points and 1500 USD. Those judokas who will lose ¼ final will gain 60 points, losers of 1/8 final will gain 36 points, 1/16 finalists – 24 points and 1/32 finalists – 12 points.
