VEF Riga is considered as a favorite of the tournament and if they are not leading the tournament schedule today, it is not only because that the team has held less matches than others. According to the lost points, they are potential leaders.
After 2 quarters, the hosts had a 2-point advantage before a big break (39:37). The fate of the match was decided in the 3rd 10 minutes which VEF won with a 10-point difference (23:13). Finally, VEF won 87:81 and they have the least, 2 losses and 10 wins at League. As for "Rock", the team is in the second place with 9 wins and 5 losses.
The last match was successful for Tsintsadze. He scored the most, 15 points (3 2-point from 8, 1 3-point from 2, 6 penalties from 8) in this team. Leader of League "Olimpija" was beat on its field by "Cibona". Croatians who are in the middle of the tournament schedule managed to win over Slovenians 84:75.
Unlike the previous match, Vladimir Boisa was not in the list of "Olimpija". But Giorgi Shermadini is back to the staff of the team. Yesterday, he played during 10.30 minutes and scored 2-2 2-point and penalty. He also collected 4 rebounds and one turnover. To tell the truth, it is impossible to understand why head coach of "Olimpija" does not let Georgian player play more often.
It is worth mentioning, that it was the second home lost match of "Olimpija" at the current tournament. In spite of the loss, "Olimpija" is still leading Adriatic League with 11 wins and 6 losses.
Others
"Giessen" of Lasha Gamkrelidze lost the 12th match in a row at German Championship. The team of Georgian player lost against "Ludwigsburg" 54:88 on its field and is in the 15th place at a 18-team championship.
Gamkrelidze played during 6.44 minutes, scored 1 point and 1 rebound.
"Pepinster" of Tornike Shengelia which is competing in Belgian Championship and managed to stop an unsuccessful 6-match series, was beat again. "Pepinster" lost against "Oostende" 74:78. Georgian forward played during 3 minutes and he only managed to make 2 rebounds.
"Lagun Aro" of Nika Tskitishvili lost too. The team was beat by "Barcelona" 75:78 at Spanish Championship.
