Fiji Is in Tbilisi

 

Fiji, the second opponent of Georgian national rugby union team, arrived in Tbilisi this morning.

Fiji has already held two matches on European tours. In spite of great advantage gained in 20 minutes against England, the Fijians could not gain point. Then, the British played actively and won 54:12. The Fijians scored two tries and used one conversion but they could not change situation. Fiji played against Irish “A” team two days ago and lost 0:53.

The delegation of Fiji consists of 35 people. According to their manager Ricko Uva, manager of the Fijian team, they arrived to play against strong team and in spite of two failures, they will try to break unsuccessful series in Georgia.

“We are happy to be in Georgia. We arrived here to play against strong opponent. I hope weather will be fine on the match day and spectators will enjoy the game”, - stated Uva.

Representatives of Georgian Rugby Union met the Fijians at the airport. Nino Andguladze, one of the representatives, evaluated the opponent: “The Fijian team is known for its unique style. They prefer watchable rugby and are current world champion of 7’s rugby. It will be a good match and our team will do its best to win it. After the first failure, the Georgian rugby players will do everything to make fans happy”.

The match between Georgia and Fiji will start at 15:00 on “Mikheil Meskhi” on November 24. Ticket price is 5 and 10 GEL. Last Saturday the Georgian team lost to Japan 22:25.
