After ending European championship, FIBA head organization of world basketball has published ranking, which includes Georgian national basketball team. FIBA creates ranking according very strange criterions and at last Georgian national team appeared in it.
As far as you know, Kokoskov’s team was among 12 best European teams at European championship, which was held in Lithuania. As a result Georgian team was appraised in FIBA ranking. This time there are 82 teams in world ranking. Georgia has 8 points and with Cuba, Maroco, Ukraine and Bosnia-Herzegovina shares the 50th-54th places.
It is remarkable, that there are 25 teams from Europe in this ranking and Georgian national team with Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ukraine shares the 20th-22nd places. It goes without saying that Spain (730 points) is leader in Europe. Only the U.S.A. is ahead of Spain in world ranking.
As a result of taking the 4th place at European championship, Macedonia has a big progress in world ranking. This time it keeps the 14th place instead of the 33rd place. It is unexpectedly that Italy is on the 7th place, it could not manage to overcome even the first sub-group stage in the previous championship m, but in spite of it, Italy does not have any regress in world ranking.
