Fate of Georgian Futsal Is still Uncertain

Zviad Sichinava, president of Georgian Football Federation, hosted members of Futsal Association. The meeting was held behind closed door.

The both sides agreed that members of Georgian Futsal Association would make a plan about development of futsal. Perhaps, the second meeting will be held on Monday. After that, Zviad Sichinava will make a decision about existence of Futsal Association.

The members of the association agreed on the decision of Sichinava. They want Futsal Association not to be a separate organization but to subordinate to GFF.

It is worth mentioning that Gaioz Pkhovelishvili, president of Futsal Association, attend the meeting but he did not want to make a comment for the press. Other members of the association made comments.

Levan Grigolia, member of Futsal Association: “This meeting has a positive result. Mr. Zviad made decisions and we will announce them on Friday. We will meet again and it will be the meeting of executive committee. Yet, there is timeout about the futsal issue and GFF will run futsal. I want to add that the issue of Futsal Association president’s dismissal is still in the agenda”.

Giorgi Darjania, member of Futsal Association: “Our main pretension was that none of the promises were carried out. Members of the association will sit down and form our positions. Then, we will meet Zviad Sichinava again. After that, Mr. Zviad will make a decision. Perhaps, futsal will subordinate to GFF”.

Lado Tsereteli, president of “Iberia Start”: “We will make a plan by Monday. After that, we will make a decision. I am concerned that Futsal Championship is not held in Georgia anymore. I would be glad if this issue will be focused on. It will be great for my team”.
