Georgian National U-19 Rugby Team which became European Champion was suitably met at the airport and in the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affaires after arrival.
Georgian rugby players arrived at dawn on November 1and approximately 500 cheering fans met them at the airport.  There was leadership of Georgian Rugby Union, relatives and friends of players and coaches and about 15 members of “Georgian Sport Fan”.
“World Sport” took an interview from a head coach of Georgian National U-19 Rugby Team Paata Narimanishvili at the airport.
Paata Narimanishvili: We were worrying much before the start of the tournament. Because we did not estimate ourselves relatively, we did not know our possibilities. We had 10-day meeting in France before the start of European Championship. There we held match against French team, they were elder and more experienced than our sportsmen but in spite of this we managed to beat them 26:0. This fact confused me very much, on of the coaches of this team Viktor Didebulidze told me that our opponent was quite good team. They told us that we played very well but I did not believe that we could so much. The most difficult match at this tournament was the first match against Portugal.  Then we had big progress between matches. After defeating Romanian Team in semifinal we wanted very much to play against Russian team in final match. Last year at European U-18 Championship our team lost with this team 17:18 in final match and we wanted to take revenge on them. Fortunately, everything happed as we wanted.  
A miracle happened in final match. Tribunes were full of emigrant Georgians. Their support was very strong and it reflected on team positively. Georgian players did their best in this match and that’s why their playing was very spectacular”.
Giga Gagoshvili one of the members of Georgian National U-19 Team states the following at the airport:” Being European Champion is big happiness and all of us are very happy. We had strong support from tribunes in final match. We were desired to beat Russian team in this match and such support gave other motivation for victory”.

Lado Vardzelashvili a Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs met Georgian heroes at daytime on November 1. Georgian Rugby Union took U-15 team with them at the meeting with Minister.  
Giorgi Nizharadze:“I congratulate everyone such success. You made Georgian people happy. I will start from Georgian U-15 Team. These guys showed spectacular rugby in Switzerland and beat teams from leading rugby countries. We have to proud that we lost with one try with South Africa. These players and their coaches did their best and worked hard. Now I want to congratulate big success to U-19 team. We did not have champion at such age category. These guys showed whole world that they are the best at their age category in this sport. I hope, you will success at World Cup.  I am proud of you, thanks a lot to each player of this team, coaches and almost everyone”.

Lado Vardzelashvili: “It is not easy what you managed to do. Several generations wanted to do the same. We have big hope of you and next generations. You deserve much support and I promise that government will do its best to develop rugby in Georgia. Your victory brought happiness each Georgian and we are grateful for this”.

“Wolrd Sport” took an interview from Levan Gogolashvili who is one of the leaders of U-19 team.
- How can you estimate support of Georgian fans and Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs?
- I am glad that people are glad due to our victory. Georgian fans arrived from different European countries for support and they were supporting within whole much. When we arrived here our local cheering fans met us at the airport and now Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs meets us. All of this makes me think that we succeeded much.
- You beat most opponents with big point difference at this tournament. Did you expect it?
- To tell the truth, we did not expect. We held matches against these teams before and waited much more from them. I think we proved that we can fight against stronger team than our opponents were.
- So, you hope that can succeed at U-20 World Cup?
- Why, not?!. We participate in the tournaments only for success.
- Which team showed the most resistance from your opponents at European Championship?
- The most distinguished match was final. But to tell the truth none of the team showed the big resistance. We had control in each match at this tournament.  
- You lost 18:17 with Russian Team at U-18 and now you won with big point difference. Have you got big progress in one year?  
- We lost then because we were not experienced. We were winning 17:0 at the beginning, but then something happened and we lost. But this year we took revenge over them.  
- You dedicated this victory to those heroes who died in August war between Georgia and Russia. Was this decision spontaneous?
- Before matches, we gather and decide what to do. This time we decided to do our best for success as those heroes who did their best to protect their homeland in this war.
