Elene in Top 5!

21-year-old Elene Gedevanishvili performed short program very well and as a result she is in the top 5 of European Figure Skating Championship, which is underway in the city of Switzerland, Bern.
She is 2010 European bronze medalist. She has chance being in top 3 this year too.
28 participants took part in short program and 24 participants go through final. Gedevansihvili was considered as one of the favorites of the tournament.
Georgian sportsman performed tango, created on the soundtrack of “Chicago” without mistake and gained 53.68 points.
Kiira Korpi (63.50) of Finland is on the 4th place, 18-year-old Russian Ksenya Makarova (60.35) is on the third place, Swiss Sarah Meier (58.56) and Viktoria Helgesson (54.70) of Sweden is on the first place.
Gedevanishvili is ahead of Carolina Kostner, three times champion of Europe and silver owner of World Championship. She gained 53.17 points and as a result she is on the 6th place.
Participants will perform free program tomorrow, Gedevanishvili was lucky in voting and she is ranked # 22. Georgian sportsman traditionally will dance on music of Andrew Lloyd Webber from musical “The Phantom of the Opera”. Gedevanishvili showed her best results at the last European Championship, she gained 103.72 points.
