On the last day of European Championship chess players participated in blitz. Nanaz Dzagnidze (2559) showed the best result from Georgians. He earned 13.5 from 20 points and won bronze medal.

41 chess players participated in blitz-tournament. They played in 10 rounds (participants held two games in each round). Finally, Valentina Gunina of Russia (2511) took the first place. She also won European Championship. Gunina earned 15.0 points and is 0.5 points ahead of Elisabeth Pahtz of Germany (2459) who took the second place. It is worth mentioning that Dzagnidze had a good chance of becoming champion. Though, the 9^th round turned out decisive. Nana lost to Antoaneta Stefanova of Bulgaria (2531) in the 9^th round.
