In the second round of 1st Hangzhou Women Grand Master Chess Tournament, Georgian Nana Dzagnidze (2537) lost against host Venzhun Zhu (2515) and was left with half point which she gained in the game against Chinese champion Yifan Hou (2575).
Two draws and two victories were played in other games of the second round: Ana Zatonskikhi (USA, 2522) – Tatiana Kosintseva (Russia, 2557) 0,5:0,5; Nadezhda Kosintseva (Russia, 2560) – Dronavalli Harika (India, 2513); Xue Zhao (China, 2470) – Chen Zhu (Qatar, 2485) 1:0; Yifan Hou – Marie Sebag (France, 2510) 1:0.
After two rounds, three Chinese chess players Venzhun Zhu, Zhao and Hou are leading the tournament with 1,5-1,5 points. The following players have one point: Harika, Tatiana Kosintseva, Zatonskikhi, Nadezhda Kosintseva. Dzagnidze, Sebag and Chen Zhu have half point.
Schedule of the third round: Sebag-Dzagnidze, Harika-Hou, Chen Zhu-Nadezhda Kosintseva, Tatiana Kosintseva-Zhao, Venzhun Zhu-Zatonskikhi.
Nine rounds will be held at the Hangzhou tournament and it will end up on July 23. Winner will gain 5 000 USD, the second-placed will gain 4 000 USD and the third-placed – 2 000 USD.
