The last chess tournament was held in Beijing under the auspices of the World Intellectual Games. World’s best women chess players participated in rapid and blitz tournaments. At last, they played chess without looking at the board.
Like the two previous tournaments, Nana Dzagnidze (2516) participated in this tournament. She could not get in Top 3 because of additional data. Georgian chess player started well. She defeated Almira Skripchenko of France (2468) and Alexandra Kosteniuk of Russia (2439) and became leader.
In the third round, Dzagnidze lost to Wenjun Ju of China (2543). Then, she played draw against Kateryna Lahno of Ukraine (2549) and lost to Yifan Hou of China (2578). Nana improved the situation in the last rounds and won over Dronavali Harika of India (2513) and Viktorija Cmilyte of Lithuania (2503).
Finally, Georgian Grand Master earned 4.5 points like Cmilyte, Kosteniuk, Yelena Dembo of Greece (2468) and Elisabeth Pahtz of Germany. According to the additional data, she took the fourth place.
Kosteniuk took the third place, Cmilyte – the second place and Hou became champion. She collected 5.5 points in seven rounds.
