Young Georgian basketball player Duda Sanadze returned to Georgia several days ago. He was training in "Sibie Academy" in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Duda is son of famous Georgian basketball player Gia Sanadze. Because of foot injury he could not play for Georgian U-16 team but he was one of the leaders in U-18 team.
"World Sport" took an interview from Duda Sanadze.
- As we know, you should have stayed in "Sibie Academy" till the end of this season. Why did you return so early?
- I had one year contract with "Sibie Academy" but I have visa problem and I had to return to Georgia. I had a 3-month visa and I could not manage to continue it.
- Did training conditions satisfy you in "Sibie Academy"
- Of course. There were perfect training conditions in Spain. Also I liked accommodation conditions. 3 basketball players lived in two-storeyed house. My coach asked me to stay there and he would let me live in his house. But I could not break a law. I am going to play great basketball and do not need sanctions.
- Akaki Dvalishvili, another Georgian basketball player and former member of "Energy Invest" Rustavi, was in this academy with you. What can you say about him?
- Dvalishvili also has a 3-month visa. Unfortunately, neither he managed to continue visa. His visa will expire on January 5 in 2011 and after this, Akaki will have to return to his homeland.
- What are you doing now?
- I am training individually at "Dinamo" basketball base in Digomi.
- Where are you going to continue your basketball career?
- I will finish this season in Georgia. I have already had an invitation from some clubs of Georgian national championship but I have not decided where I will play.
- You said you were going to finish this season in Georgia, what are you going to do then?
- I want to enter one of the USA universities and to continue my career there.
- Please, tell us briefly about yourself.
- I was born in 1992 in Tbilisi. Weight - 90 kg, height - 197 cm. I played one season for "Dinamo" Tbilisi and then I left for Spain.
- How many years have you been playing basketball?
- I was bout 7-8 years old when my father took me to basketball academy and Gela Tsuladze trained me. After that Niko Cherkezishvili trained me and then I transfered to Dinamo.
- Did your father advise you to play basketball or was it your will?
- I was my will and my father was not against.
- You say you want to play great basketball, what are your goals?
- Except the national team, I want to play in NBA and EuroLeague. I will do my best to realize my dreams.
