The second round of Women’s World Chess Championship turned out unsuccessful for Georgian participants. Only Lela Javakhishvili (2455) and Nino Khurtsidze (2428) managed to get among 32 participants. None of them won the first games.
Javakhishvili played against Keteryna Lahno of Ukraine (2553) with white pieces. The Georgian played draw on the 26th move. Khurtsidze lost to Xue Zhao of China (2565) on the 43rd move. On November 15 repeated games will be held. If it is necessary, tie-breaks will find out winners on November 16.
