After 3 – year rest “big” football came to Kutaisi again. Within this period a lot of things happened in Kutaisi – there was despair, but the last events made local football fans being optimistic. New owner of the club, stadium reconstruction and what is the main return of old name “Torpedo”, everything that happened a few months ago. That’s why everyone waits start of XXII national championship with big interest.
In spite of high temperature in the "Central" stadium about 8000 fans came and celebrated their club’s return in elite.It could be more but due to hot summer most part of fans were in the countryside. There was also coincidence, some football fan preferred to stay at home and watch basketball match against Bulgaria. But in the stadium were such fans who were watching basketball by mobiles and football simultaneously.
Georgian fans listened to the new anthem of "Torpedo" sang by "Frani" before the footballers’ appearance in pitch.

Gaga Chikhladze (“Frani” solist, author of anthem): “We dedicated this anthem to our favorite “Torpedo” and fans from Kutaisi. We are all glad that “Torpedo” again among the bests. We always will be next to our city and “Torpedo”.
There were also some guests from the capital to watch match between current champion of Georgia and team which had returned in Supreme League. They watched quite well football. This match would be more spectacular if loans were not in such condition due to heat, which discomforted footballers.
Match was in high rate. Competitors were trying not to give space to each other. The first threat was in front of host’s door, when Nika Kvaskhadze kicked foul which was set due to falling down Khachiperadze. The ball was kicked from standard corner. Kick was not strong and exactly, goalkeeper of “Olimp” Bediashvili played well and saved the situation with fits.

At the beginning it should be noted that “Torpedo” left good impression. They are leading  power of the team and if they improve playing will reflect on the team well. Rustavi team also played well, which is their forward Irakli Modebadze’s merit. Due to his activity in first 10 minutes Machavariani was shown yellow card. While “Olimp” threat competitor’s door they also were threatened. After Datunaishvili- Khachiperadze combination, Kvackhadze appeared in front of door but his kick was not exactly and situation was saved.
The first danger attack of the guests was performed by Getsadze at the 20 minute. After his pass to Modebadze kicked, but it was not strong enough and Migineishvili parried ball without any problem. Soon Getsadze had chance, at this time Modebadze was his assistant but he also could not kick well.

After these moments host took initiative. Kvaskhadze had to kick, but after Popkhadze’s pass he could not kick head well.
At the 37 minute Chedia had 100 per cent chance of scoring from 10 meter distance but goalkeeper Migineishvili parried well and deserved applause.
“Torpedo” had big advantage in the first part of the match. Khachapuridze’s good playing should be mentioned. Rustavi defenders had difficulties to neutral his attacks. They were threatened when Zaur kicked but Bediashvili parried it well, but Kvaskhadze played well against Kemoklidze and scored 1:0.
The second half guests started well and soon could draw. At the 49 minute Razmadze played against Machavariani well after Chedia’s pass and scored from short distance 1:1. Goal was confusing for “Torpedo” which was used by Temur Makharadze’s footballers well. Rustavi team took playing initiative. At the 54 minute Getsadze was kicking from good distance but Migineishvili parried out the ball. He also played well when Giorgi Chelidze was playing against him. Migineishvili left door in time and reacted to Chelidze’s kick.
There was such impression as if Kutaisi team got tired in the second half but last part of the game showed that it was wrong. Just champions of the country had initiative of playing and they could not play for a long time. At the end of the match Givi Chkhetiani had chance to score but he played fast and without result. Match finished with Chikviladze’s penalty, but his kick was inexact. Draw was just result of this match.

 Temur Makharadze(head coach of “Olimp”):” We could not play well in the first half, our competitor was playing well. In the second half we played better. To my mind draw was logical end of this match.”
Nestor Mumladze( head coach of “Torpedo”):“We played against very strong competitor. We were playing in the first half well and could score more goals, but we could not manage it. As you know “ Olipm” started season earlier than us, they were preparing for qualifying round of Champions League. That’s why their footballers were in better condition than ours. Our staff was created two months ago and to demand footballers much it is difficult.”
