Lately there were some debates about who should be central forward of Georgian national team. Davit Siradze, a 29-year-old forward of "Spartak" Nalchik, plays the best on this position. He scored three goals this year. At the last minute he scored with head in a friendly match against Estonia. Also he scored with head against Malta and Latvia but unfortunately, this last goal did not bring the team three points. Siradze had such successful period in 2007 too.
Davit held a good season in Russian Premier League. His "Spartak" took the 6th place and was close to Europa League.
Siradze is in Tbilisi now. Here is an interview with him.
- This season was the best in history of "Spartak" Nalchik. Not only I, but everyone was satisfied with the team's playing and result. It is a pity that we could not go through Europa League.
- Everything was in your hands and "Lokomotive" Moscow went ahead of you at the last moment.
- That is right. We lost against "Amkar" away in the round before the last one. It was difficult to win there because they were fighting for staying in Premier League.
- Coach Iuri Krasnozhan left the club. It is difficult to imagine "Spartak" Nalchik without him. Do you know new coach Vladimir Eshtrekov?
- Our team is really strange without Krasnozhan. 10 players also left the team. 5 of them played in the main staff - Gogua, Diadiun, Geteriev are among them. New players will come and I think, we will not leave Premier League and it would be better if we still fight for Europa League. As for Eshtrekov, I do not know him and when I will arrive in Nalchik, I will talk to him. I only know that he coached "Lokomotive" Moscow 3-4 years ago.
- Do you think about changing the club?
- Not yet. I have contract till next December. Management of the club thanked and told me that I should be one of the leaders of the club in the next season.
- Amisulashvili left "Spartak" in the middle of the season. Now Gogua left the club. You must not be pleased that only you, Georgian, are left in the club.
- I do not know whether they joked or said it seriously but I was told that I would not feel alone.
- "Spartak" Nalchik has the most low budget two years ago. Is it the same now?
- Yes, it is.
- You held the best match of Premier League in Moscow against CSKA. Gogua and you scored goals and won 2:1. How do you remember this match?
- It was unforgettable match for me and for the whole team. I will tell you one interesting story - before the match, Gogua bet that he and I would score goals in that match.
- In home matches fans have Georgian flag on the tribune. "Dato and Goga. Many thanks to our Georgians" is written on that flag. Do people love Georgians in Nalchik?
- I think, they love us more than Russians.
- Is it a quiet city? Anyway, it is Caucasus and...
- It is a very cozy city. It cannot be compared to Grozno and Vladikavkaz.
- Now about the national team. What do you think, what has changed in Georgian team?
- Our coach changed a lot of things. Temur Ketsbaia is such a good specialist as he was player. We know what we must do on the field.
- Is authority of Ketsbaia a great factor?
- This is one of the most important things. Ketsbaia saw our plus-minus well. No one can say that Cuper and Toppmoller were bad coaches but Ketsbaia knows us better and it played a great role.
- You scored three goals in the national team this year - you must be satisfied.
- Of course, I am. Especially, goal against Malta made me happy. I was disappointed when we lost in Latvia. Latvian player scored such goal at the last minute that I do not know what to say about it. We were often scored goals at the last minute. So, it does have influence on me and other players. I am disappointed that we collected only 6 points in the qualifying round.
