There is a question: if Devdariani had injury, how did he play against “Horsens”? So, “World Sport” contacted Davit in Denmark:

Devdariani called it nonsense that he did not want to play for the national team – “I do not know who said it… why would not I want to play for the national team?”

-         Injury was named as the reason that you did not arrive in the national team. But you played against “Horsens”…

-         I had injury before I was called up. I got injured after the match against Belarus and did not play for a short period.

-         So when you were called up, you did not tell them you had injury? What reason did you say?

-         When I was called I did not say I had injury and would not arrive. The main reason was that I had to play against second-placed “Nordsjaelland” on November 16. So, I had to play against “Horsens” on Friday. Then, I had to arrive to play against Egypt on November 14. After two days I had to play against “Nordsjaelland”. It would have been hard. I decided to stay in Denmark.

-         Devdariani does not want to play for the national team – we often hear it.

-         I do not know why people say it. I wanted the national team and now I do not want? I do not know who says it… why would not I want to play for the national team? I always had injury and could not play for the national team. I cannot explain it to everybody. Everybody who knows me knows how much the national team means to it. There is another reason why I could not arrive for the match against Egypt: I think, the national team is higher level and football player must be prepared for it. I have just started practicing and I am not ready. I repeat once again when I was called up I did not tell them I had injury. I did not have injury.

-         You could not play against “Nordsjaelland” because you were sent off against “Horsens”.

-         I will miss two matches because I received red card. I was hit in feet for the whole match. At last I rushed into one of the defenders. He fell on the field. Referee thought I hit him.

-         You were forward against Finland and Belarus. Is it problem for you to play on this position?

-         No, it is not. Nothing special because I am a striker. I play as the second forward or midfielder in “Aarhus”.
