At Supreme League, match between old, traditional rivals have not been held for a long time. Yesterday, "Torpedo" and "Kolkheti" held a match against each other as debutants. In spite of expection, the stadium was not crowded, though in terms of attendance, Kutaisi was always distingiushed with a high rate.
Teams were in different moods before the next round of the championship. "Torpedo" had only one point within 2 matches. As for "Kolkheti", they collected 4 points within 2 matches and were among leaders. In the last round successful match of "Kolkheti" is worth mentioning. On their own field "Kolkheti" beat "Wit Georgia" which should be considered as the most stable club at the championship.
The match debut turned out uninteresting. Clubs were playing so inertly that one would think that they were playing under compulsion. There were many mistakes, especially, players made inexact assists when they were on the half of the rival.
Clubs did nothing especial till the end of the first half. Only once, after the corner the host team managed to shoot in the goal of "Kolkheti" but headshot of Parulava was thrown over the crossbar. At the 28th minute, "Kolkheti" shot the ball in the goal of "Poti". It was the first and the last normal shot of "Kolkheti" in this game. Revaz Jikia passed some opponents near the penalty area of "Torpedo" and kicked awkwardly. But attempt of the forward turned out dangerous for the hosts. Jikia missed goal of Kvilitaia with small distance.
The match revived at the end of the first half. At first, Givi Chkhetiani finished the combination of "Torpedo" with strong shoot. But the goalkeeper threw the ball on corner. Yesterday Digmelashvili, new player of "Torpedo", took all standard kicks which he did not so bad. By the way, after the assist of Davit, Chikviladze shot the ball with head and threw it on corner again. Another dangerous moment at the goal of Shengelia was when Khachiperadze was alone with the ball in the penalty area of "Kolkheti but forward found it hard to clarify in the situation. Makhviladze overtook him and situation was eased.
Because of uninteresting match, coaches tried to make some changes in the first half. We can say that Mumladze was luckier because Tarkhnishvili was one of the active players on the field. But all these did not bring any result.
The second half was more interesting than the first one. The hosts played more actively. Besides that, players of "Kolkheti" looked tired. At the 54th minute, Khachiperadze ran in the penalty area of "Kolkheti" from right wing and shot strongly. But Shengelia managed to parry the ball again. At the 61st minute, "Kolkheti" almost received a 100% goal. Giorgi Datunaishvili played well at the left corner of the "Kolkheti" penalty area. He passed the ball to Khachiperadze but Zaur could not score in the empty goal. After several minutes, forward of "Torpedo" was in the same situation when he could not score again. Yesterday was not his day.
Tiredness of guests became more noticeable. Gizo Shengelia was not playing without mistakes before, dropped the ball several times. But he managed to keep his goal "dry". "Torpedo" was attacking from wings at the end of the match but defender of "Kolkheti" Intskirveli was playing with no mistakes. Midfielder of the guests Jojua is worth mentioning who did a large amount of work. Shot of Datunashvili from 30m was the last chord of the match. But Shengelia parried it with effective jump.
After this, nothing interesting happened in the match which caused anxiety for the owners and fans of "Torpedo". Though, there is only one fact: "Torpedo" continued competing without a win and "Kolkheti" without a lose.
Besik Sherozia: "First of all, I want to congratulate to fans of "Torpedo" on returning of great football in Kutaisi and wish them luck. The result was good for us. We failed in the 2nd half and boys looked tired. So, we tried to play in defense and waited for our chance. But we did not have any chance".
Nestor Mumladze: "To tell the truth, I cannot recognize "Torpedo". I feel like it is not my team. I should find out everything and improve the situation as soon as possible".
