Cmilyte, Stefanova and Danielian Won Medals

 

European Individual Women’s Chess Championship hosted by Tbilisi “Sheraton Metekhi Palace” hotel is coming to an end.

Medal winners are already known. Lithuanian Viktorija Cmilyte (9) took the first place. Antoaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria, 8,5) won silver medal and Armenian Elina Danielian won bronze medal. Danielian collected 8 points like Russian Svetlana Matveeva but she had better coefficient than Matveeva and took the third place.

All games of leaders have already ended up. It is worth mentioning that all of them collected 0,5-0,5 points. The following games ended up draw: Viktorija Cmilyte (8,5) – Svetlana Matveeva (7,5), Elina Danielian (7,5) – Antoaneta Stefanova (8), Anastasia Bondaruk – Tatiana Kozintseva, Bela Khotenashvili – Ana Muzichuk (Slovenia), Kateryna Lahno (Ukraine) – Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant (Scotland), Lela Javakhishvili – Nadezhda Kosintseva.

Other prize winners are not known yet. The championship will end up soon and closing ceremony is planned at 21:00.

Top 14 chess players will compete in World Championship. As for prizes, the 1st-16th placed players and champions-prize winners of U-14, 16, 18 will be awarded.
