Beka Burjanadze leader of Georgian national youth team has signed three-year contract with “Cajasol” of Spain and in the future season he will play in ACB one of the strongest league of Europe. As far as you know, Burjanadze was in the club of Sevilla before but mostly he was playing for the youth team. In January Burjanadze turned 18 and “Cajasol” offered him a contract, which is a big success for Georgian basketball player.
Sevillian club has already called him up in line-up and he has No.7 t-shirt. Georgian forward has already held the first control match at “Cajasol” and played quite big role in the match against “Tsibona” of Zagreb. The Spanish beat the opponent 91:71, Burjanadze gained 9 points. It is interesting that Sevillians lost the first period 20:23, but in the second and the fourth quarters they played draws (23:23, 20:20) and the most decisive period was the third one, which ended in favor of “Cajasol” – 28:4 (!).
On Wednesday “Cajasol” will hold the next match against “Unicaja” of Malaga at Andalusia Cup. ACB league starts on September 29 and Burjanadze’s club plays against “Mursia” in the first match.
It is remarkable that “Cajasol” is among those teams which started competition at Europe Cup in 2012-2013, so Georgian basketball player will have chance of showing his possibilities at Europe League too.
As far as you know, Burjanadze has very tense season in Georgian national age team. In July he played at European U-20 championships and his average result was 16.4 points and 8.4 rebounds, in August he joined U-18 team and his average points at qualifying European championship was 17.6 points and 11.4 rebounds.
