“Brooklyn Nets”, new club of basketball player Tornike Shengelia, paid all of Toko’s 300 000 USD buy-out with Belgian club “Charleroi”. Before that, it was only known Tornike signed contract with “Nets” but nothing was known about his contract with “Charleroi”.

“World Sport” contacted father of Tornike, veteran basketball player Kakha Shengelia. According to Kakha, Toko joined the national team on July 24. Our team is preparing in Austria. Kakha Shengelia confirmed that “Brooklyn Nets” transferred 300 000 USD to the Belgian team and Toko became member of “Brooklyn”.

“Philadelphia 76ers” chose Tornike on NBA 2012 draft and sold him to “Brooklyn” in several minutes.

As for “Charleroi”, Tornike Shengelia had one-year contract with this team and that is why “Nets” had to buy out it.
