Bert van Marwijk: "Germany Has a Strong Team but It can be Defeated"

Bert van Marwijk, head coach of Dutch national team, and midfielder Wesley Sneijder showed up at the press conference from the Dutch side. It was announced that Sneijder was injured but he feels good and trained.

At the beginning of the press conference, van Marwijk got angry because of questions of compatriot journalist who tried to gain some information about the team after the failure against Denmark. The journalist even asked if it was right that he argued with van Persie.

“It is lie! We are here and prepare for it. We do not have time to talk about it”, - stated Dutch head coach. This journalist wanted to ask more questions but he was told that he was at the press conference and other journalist had to also ask questions.

Though, the next Dutch journalist also asked the same question and the coach answered shortly: “I do not know, what is going on in Holland and what the press is writing. We settled in Krakow and hold matches in Ukraine”.

According to van Marwijk, Germany has a good team but it can be beat. Though, he did not state how he was going to do it:

“Germany has a strong team but it can be beat. How? I will not say it now. I know, after the failure in the first match, people are criticizing the Dutch team. Though, players may be more motivated because of it”.

Van Marwijk mentioned that he did not give any importance to the match against Germany:

“Every match is very important. Besides that, it is important match, it is also interesting. Of course, the upcoming match will be different from the match in Hamburg. Now, the match will be held on neutral field – it is not a friendly match”.

Head coach of “Oranges” stated about Joris Mathijsen that he is training and will decide whether he will play or not.

Wesley Sneijder: “We have good relationship with the coach. We played well against Denmark and missed many chances to score goal. We will play well against Germany”.

One of the leaders of the Dutch team characterized the German team this way:

“We are playing against a great team. Germany is one of the favorites. We will hold a difficult match and I think, it will end well for us. We can win Germany over”.

One of the Chinese journalist girl who arrived from Shanghai asked Sneijder in Kharkiv – how are you going to relax before such tense match? She cited English team as an example: “They are living near the stadium and meet fans”. The football player smiled and answered: “We feel good at the hotel”.

Unlike the Germans, Dutch team did not close practicing and we could not lose this chance. It is a friendly atmosphere in the Dutch team and the coach let players joke. In short, it was fun on the field. After warming up, the Dutch players played “quarters”. The practicing ended up with two goals. There are many stars in the Dutch team but Sneijder has the biggest authority. Robben and van Persie looked less honorably.
