Beradze did not Give in Jobava

 

Baadur Jobava (2721), the main favorite of Georgian Championship, could not win a game. He played draw with Irakli Beradze (2298) on the 48th move with white pieces. In the first round, Beradze won Merab Gagunashvili (2570) over.

Jobava earned 2.5 points in three rounds but he is not a leader. Luka Paichadze (2480) has the same points. He beat Iveri Chighladze with white pieces.

11 rounds will be held at Georgian Championship and 14 000 GEL is its prize money. Winner will gain 4 500 GEL and will be named as a member of Olympic team. First-second placed will be financed for European Championship 2013.

The qualifying round of Women’s World Rapid and Blitz Championship has started and will end up at Bukhuti Gurgenidze Chess Palace today.

After 4 rounds, Miranda Mikadze and Sopho Gvetadze are leading the tournament with 3.5-3.5 points. On May 16, participants will play other three rounds and those 3 participants of World Championship will be found out.
